How do you boil a frog?
A classic analogy to use when coaching novices.
Today my example of boiling a frog was receiving a text message letting me know that I would not be working with the walk-on athletes and instead would be coaching one of the fours.
Needless to say I wish I'd been a bit more prepared in the clothing department because it was steaming hot at the boathouse. The sun was intense and I was not prepared to be out in a metal coaching launch. Rookie mistake.
Still the experience was fun, and thus my introduction to coaching at a Division 1 program is complete with as little fanfare as possible.
