A journey begins with a single step
Dear All,
This blog has been started and restarted countless times and after much thought, here it is.
The road of an aspiring coach is long and hard especially when the sport you coach isn't one of the mainstream mainstays of the American college or professional scene. Welcome to the life of a crew coach. Even when you become a head coach you can forget the ideas of Nike endorsements and multimillion dollar contract extensions. The hours are long, the pay is weak and there aren't any short cuts but if you're willing to put in the elbow grease you can become something more than just a statistic on an NCAA sheet.
It's a few years late but this blog will chronicle the path from journey man - I prefer mercenary - coach to assistant and hopefully in a few years, full time head coach.
Enjoy the ride.
